Looking at Stroke

Educating young adults on the dangers of stroke.

“Albert Einstein said 'Creativity is intelligence having fun.' Carys is an intelligent, young Graphic Communications designer who has worked on an inspiring and thought-provoking project for Stroke Hub Wales (SHW). She has completed the project with the utmost respect for Stroke Survivors and conducted herself in a professional and admirable manner; exemplifying Einstein’s quote above. SHW and the stroke survivors who featured in this project highly recommend Carys for her creativity, inspiration, talent and professionalism"

The Challenge:

Project Summary:

Stroke Hub Wales challenged me to create a campaign which aims to raise awareness about the possibility of young people having strokes and encourage the age range of 16-21 to live healthily in order to lower their risk. Many stroke campaigns do not refer to the fact that young people are also susceptible to having strokes.

The core concept of the campaign is a pair of glasses which restricts the wearer’s vision in ways which replicate impairments experienced by stroke survivors. Glasses would be sent to schools and universities as part of an educational pack complete with guidance for teachers, suggested workshops and branded packaging.
